Mennonite Church of Normal has a number of seasonal worship services that pay particular attention to the rhythms of the church year.

Love Feast
The first Sunday evening in January we gather for a simple meal, celebrating the past year and anticipating the new year. We share experiences from the year just ended and dreams for the year to come, and then pray for each other before celebrating communion around the supper tables. Child care is provided.

Maundy Thursday Service
Based on the scripture, “A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another; as I have loved you….” (John 13:34), Maundy Thursday is held on the Thursday night before Good Friday. We commemorate God’s love for us through Jesus by hearing scripture, remembering the Passover, following Jesus’ example of footwashing, gathering at the Lord’s Table for Communion, and looking ahead at the passion of Christ on the cross.

Longest Night Service
Held on one of the longest nights of the year in deep December, this is an alternative holiday worship, providing time for quiet reflection, music, candles and prayer.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service
An early evening service each December 24 to celebrate the birth of the Christ Child, Christmas Eve includes scripture reading, songs and hymns and the lighting of candles while singing Silent Night .
