Bible Text: Amos 8: 1-14

What if you were condemned to a life without meaning or direction, and nowhere to go to find it? A life where nothing at all matters. Perhaps such reflections might lead to embracing with gratitude those things that do matter and give life meaning. Perhaps this is behind the punishment meted out to Israel, “a famine of hearing the words of the Lord”.
