Bible Text: John 5:1-7

Pastor Matt will speak about his sabbatical experience of volunteering as an intern counselor at Home Sweet Home Ministries, a residential homeless shelter in Bloomington. People experiencing homelessness struggle just to keep themselves alive. This constant struggle of desperation erodes hope. Of all the mental health concerns, persistent depression was the most prevalent among residents. In his ministry, Jesus persistently met desperate people to listen and lead them to healing. Scripture reading will be John 5:1-7.
