Bible Text: Matthew 2:13-23 | The scripture, often used the Sunday after Christmas, highlights the flight of Mary and Joseph to Egypt to save Jesus from the threat of Herod. Little is ever focused on the horrible tragedy suffered by hundreds of families in the region because of Jesus’ presence. It is appropriate to acknowledge that grief also surrounds the Christmas story.
